this was a total shame and and a disgrace to local theater enthusiasts of all ages . the city of campbell decided to play games and use it narrowminded political views to ruin the last privately owned and operated theatre in the area . As well ruining a special place in history for alot of people in the valley, it was a place where young bands could go and perform and feel like they were in a real concert hall , as well the teens could go listen to music and stay out of trouble in a safe envirement. I talked to a couple of the police officers of the campbell police department a few weeks ago and they stated they never had any calls for trouble at the gaslighter whereas the city has claimed there was always trouble there . i will miss the gaslighter and all the traditions that went with it . as well as the good ole pure family entertainment that was offered there for the past 37 yrs . goodbye to a great tradition in campbell that should have never ended .
What a damn joke….we are always complaining about the kids today…that they cause trouble and use drugs and drink, but what do we have for them to do to stay out of trouble. Nothing! And this is from a City that has a downtown that is not much better than a strip with some old tired businesses. Campbell, when it had clubs, was a great city…vibrant and full of life. Now it isn’t much better than most of the other tired old cities in this area. Sad, sad day
