Nice video. Appreciated the initial efforts of TPL to coordinate the purchase of this land. But as a resident of Davenport for the past 7 years, I have to say I am disappointed in TPL’s efforts to keep the residents of Davenport informed as to subsequent actions. After the draft use plan was completed in 2004, there has been virtually no information shared with the Davenport community regarding future plans on this property. Any effort on the part of our community to communicate with TPL was received with little or no enthusiasm. TPL has given us the impression that they would just as soon be rid of the burden of this property. If not for the article in the SJMN, our community would have had no idea that the “beach side” of this property will soon be turned over to State Parks. Lets hope the local State Park’s people are better at communicating with the Davenport community.
