    uh, this kind of just sits there… where is the story? its like a bunch of snapshots and video MTV’ed together… having been there, does not give me the feel of the place

    Actually, I think this piece, through the slides, and the sounds, and the brief commentaries, catches a whole lot of the mood of the place very well. OK, not the singing — but everything *surrounding* the singing. The crowds, the chatter, the audience encouragement, the spontaneity, the playfulness, the funkiness, all very impressionistic — but if you want narrative, that’s what the article is for. Well, maybe if it had been me putting this together, I would have edited in at least a glimpse of the cute cocktail waitress and maybe not incuded so much of *me* with my bad hair-doo, big teeth, and somewhat dis-jointed commentary. But maybe they did that for a reason… to show that even ordinary guys with bad hair-doos and big teeth can get their star time at the ‘Boo.
