Very cool! Made me feel like I might have actually been there. I was marched in a parade with my granddaughter’s Daisy Girl Scout troop.

Very cool. How long did this take you? I’m interested if this was produced on your free time, or if the MN photo bosses let you spend a chunk of company time producing this.

[...] Finally, another piece of newspaper video by a guy who is emerging as one of my favourite visual journalists: Dai Sugano of the San Jose Mercury News. His report on the California Democratic convention is a great example of how newspapers can harness video. [...]

I’m in the news business and watching your work is refreshing… you’re a real talent and every person in my newsroom who has seen this assignment says the same thing, they’ve been inspired and reminded of why we love this business; it’s the potential to do really great work like your “On Assigment” piece. You’re exceptional, a true artist.

As a photography student in Montreal, I was really inspired by your multi-media presentation. It reminds me of when i movie first came out and I used to make montages using pictures and clips for university projects and installations. To see the idea applied and published, is really exciting.
I can see how this art form will be the ‘new wave’ of photojournalism and story telling.
kudos

Oh. My. God.
You’re my hero. My visual hero.
What I see, you see. Obviously, you’re better at getting it on camera…
This is how good I want to be in the next few years.
Wow.
I’m a changed woman.
Thank you, thank you for your work.

Can somebody please give me an Advil? So this is the future of photojournalism? Making the viewer dizzy and don’t have the time to see the photo? Man the industry is going down!
